Meet Our Staff
Richard J. Donovan, P.T.Richard J. Donovan, P.T., is the founding President and Owner of Coastal Physical Rehabilitation, a Physical Therapist owned Out-Patient Clinic in Sebastian, Florida. Mr. Donovan received his Bachelor of Science degree and certification in Physical Therapy from New York University, (NYU). Mr. Donovan is also the founder and owner of Therapy Consultants, Inc., which provides Physical Therapists and/or Physical Therapy Assistants for patients in their homes and contracted services for various Home Health Agencies.
As an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Richard consistently updates his credentials and skills by attending annual workshops and seminars sponsored by the Association. Richard specializes in orthopedic, vestibular and balance rehab, sports medicine, and other physical limitations or disabilities.
Mr. Donovan is licensed to practice Physical Therapy in Florida, New York, and Colorado. He has practiced Physical Therapy for over 30 years in Indian River County, Florida.
In his free time, Richard is an avid road biker, runner, and alpine skier.
Mark Thickman, P.T.Mark Thickman, P.T., has been a Physical Therapist for 34 years. He has been associated with major University Health Care Systems at the University of Maryland and the University of Washington, and has published papers in major professional journals. Mr. Thickman has been involved in Home Care Physical Therapy for twenty years. As Co-Owner and Vice President of Therapy Consultants, Inc., for 19 years, Mark manages and coordinates Home Health Physical Therapy services.
Mark maintains a healthy lifestyle as a serious road biker and surfer.
Darlene Heglund, P.T.
Darlene Heglund, P.T., is a positive, part-time member of the Coastal Physical Rehab Team. She graduated from the University of Florida in 1988 with honors earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy. Since that time, Darlene has practiced in Indian River County. She specializes in Pediatric and Orthopedic Physical Therapy in the home, at school, and at Coastal Physical Rehab.
Darlene enjoys camping with her family, (especially at Disney!), exercising regularly, and teaching "Zumba!"
Laura D. Terlizzese, R.P.T.A.
Laura D. Terlizzese, R.P.T.A., graduated in 1986 from St. Petersburg Junior College's Physical Therapy Assistant Program with an Associate of Science degree in Physical Therapy. Laura graduated with the Highest Clinical Grade Point Average of 99.925!! Laura has 25 years of professional experience in various rehabilitation settings including Home Health Care, Out-Patient Physical Therapy, and Spine/Sport Rehabilitation facilities. She performed Physical Therapy on olympic swimmers and divers at Mission Bay Training Facility, as well as out-patient Physical Therapy for various professional baseball players.
Laura's Continuing Education experience includes multiple orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation courses. She completed the McKenzie Institute of Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment Courses, (Parts A&B which focus on cervical, thorasic and lumbar regions of the spine).
Laura finds joy in her work treating patients whether in the home through Therapy Consultants, Inc. or at Coastal Physical Rehabilitation Out-Patient Clinic.
Spending time with her Family, tending her garden, and fishing in our coastal waters are among her favorite pastimes.
